Producer/Editor Todd Miro and I have been workin all week on mastering the DVD. Adding commentary tracks, our 15 minute making-of featurette, deleted scenes and bloopers, a little intro by me asking piraters to please pay if they liked our little indpendent movie...lots of good stuff! Now we're done and it's time to send our baby off to be replicated in the plant. Yea!!!

Received great news today from the Cinefantasy festival in Brazil! We're soooo excited to hear the screening was a success. Drop us a line if you were there; we would loooove to hear from you!!!

"The Brazilian audience loved The Commune, people have talked about on Orkut, Twitter and blogs and the most important magazine (VejaSP) of the city cited The Commune like one of the highlights of the festival. The audience had a great time and the screening was a success! Huge congratulations to all of you for the movie. It’s a great movie!"

We had our first international screeing today at Cinefantasy in Brazil. Very exciting! Wish we could have been there. Here's what they said about us in their program: "The Commune é uma mistura de mito e mistério, o filme conta sobre uma jovem virgem que se encontra isolada pelos membros da “família” em uma antiga seita religiosa que possui uma sinistra..."

We had a wonderful screening at the prestigious La Femme Film Festival here in Los Angeles! It was an empowering gathering of women and the men who love hearing their stories. The closing award ceremony was very inspiring, with great speaches from Diablo Cody, screenplay winner Katie Lee Madonna, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Marla Gibbs.

Thanks to festival coordinators Donna Hull and Leslie La Page, our fans and team who showed up to support the movie, and all our new festival friends! Viva La Femme!

The Commune has won BEST SCENE 2009 from FILM SNOBBERY!

Thanks to editor in chief Nic Baisley for his tireless support of true independent film, and his amazing good taste!

The scene that won is a fan favorite: Puck and Jenny at the river. You can see it here on our Trailer and Clips page.

The cinematography by Marc Shap and crew is gorgeous. The acting by Chauntal Lewis and Emmy-winner David Lago is touching and real. The editing by Todd Miro is clever and unobtrusive. And our renaissance man Winter provided top-notch sound, sound design, and even did the "bad" music in the background (which he named Horned God Rcoks as an in-joke to our team). Congratulations, 'muners!
